MIMG Listserv: Undergrad. Advising Announcements

We share our weekly office hours, appointment scheduling link, MIMG announcements, and opportunities for MIMG undergraduate students via our Listserv emails. 

Please email us at undergrad@microbio.ucla.edu with your UID and preferred email address(es) to be added.

Drop-In Advising

  • Drop-In Advising sessions are limited to 15 minutes or less, designed for brief inquiries. 
  • Drop-In Advising Wait Time:
    • Students will be supported on a first-come, first-serve basis. 
    • Upon joining Zoom, you'll be placed in a waiting room. There might be a wait time if we’re with another student or if there is a queue. We’ll admit you into the meeting as soon as possible.
  • Please prepare by writing down questions in advance and plan ahead by reviewing the MIMG Pre-Major Requirements and MIMG Major Requirements. 
  • We share our weekly drop-in hours with MIMG undergraduate students via our Listserv emails. Please email us at undergrad@microbio.ucla.edu with your UID and preferred email to be added or to inquire about our drop-in hours. 

MIMG Individual Advising Appointments

Individual advising appointments are reserved for students who may have more complex MIMG inquiries (such as course planning) or who cannot attend Drop-In advising. 

Students can schedule 1-on-1 MIMG advising appointments for the following purposes only:

  • MIMG major and pre-major/LS core questions.
  • Short-term planning for MIMG major courses.*
  • Enrollment questions/concerns about MIMG courses.
  • Questions about MIMG research opportunities.

*If you want to review your MIMG courses within a longer timeframe (i.e. graduation plan), we ask that you prepare in advance. Please prepare a draft of your course plan in your preferred format, referring to the MIMG Pre-Major Requirements and the MIMG Major Requirements. 

We share our appointment scheduling link weekly with MIMG undergraduate students via our Listserv emails. Please email us at undergrad@microbio.ucla.edu with your UID and preferred email to be added or to inquire about alternative appointment times. 

MIMG Enrollment Questions

Please email us at undergrad@microbio.ucla.edu with your UID for MIMG course enrollment questions or support. 

MIMG does not offer PTE numbers. If you are experiencing an enrollment issue that requires support, we will directly enroll students if possible and if space permits. 

MIMG courses are open to MIMG majors during first and second pass, and then open to non-MIMG majors, space permitting. Please see UCLA's Enrollment Appointments for accurate enrollment appointment times.
