How to Schedule an MIMG Advising Appointment:

  1. Review the expectations for advising appointments below.
  2. Schedule appointments either via our booking link or email:
    1. Please review our advising appointment booking link to schedule an appointment immediately. Please note that there may be few options showing if students have already booked available appointment times. 

      Important: When booking advising appointments, ensure your computer is set to PST/Pacific Time, or adjust the time zone using the drop-down menu under Date and Time options on the Booking page to avoid scheduling conflicts. Please note that all MIMG advising appointments are between 8:00 AM PST - 5:00 PM PST.

    2. Please email MIMG Advisors at undergrad@microbio.ucla.edu to request an in-office or Zoom MIMG Advising Appointment. In your email, please kindly include:
      1. Your preferred name and, optionally, preferred pronouns.
      2. Your UCLA UID.
      3. At least 3 potential times to meet or your general availability weekdays 8:00 AM PST - 5:00 PM PST.
      4. Your preference for in-office or Zoom meeting.
      5. Key topics/questions you hope to address in the meeting. 

Expectations:

We offer 30-minute in-person and Zoom MIMG advising appointments for in-depth or complex questions about your progress in the MIMG major and/or MIMG undergraduate research options. You can also check in with us about any challenges you're facing that you need additional support with-we're here to help!

We kindly ask that you:

  • Please email us at undergrad@microbio.ucla.edu with your UID or attend Drop-In Advising for quick or time-sensitive questions.
  • Arrive on time or notify us via email if you're running late (we offer a 10-minute grace period).
  • If needing to reschedule or cancel, please do so as soon as possible to allow another student to book the appt. time. If you are unable to cancel using the system, please email MIMG advisors at undergrad@microbio.ucla.edu to cancel your appt.

How to Prepare for an MIMG Advising Appointment:

  1. Double-check your calendar and set reminders for the meeting. Ensure that the meeting does not conflict with class, work, or other commitments. We strongly recommend setting your own reminders or alarms as needed for this meeting. 

  2. Note or considering writing down key questions in advance.

  4. If meeting via Zoom, please ensure you have a good connection and a quiet space to meet.
