Congratulations to our MIMG Graduate Students: Grasiela Torres from Dr. Covarrubias's lab, Johnny Ji from O'Sullivan's lab, and Pablo Alvarez from Dr. Li's lab for being recipients of this year’s John Eiserling-Lengyel Teaching Excellence Awards.
Our 2024 John-Eiserling-Lengyel Teaching Excellence Awardees share a few words with us:
Grasiela Torres: "I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my incredible mentors Dr. Covarrubias, Dr. Bradley, Professor Berthet, and Dr. Bernhardt for exemplifying what it means to be an effective educator. I am also deeply thankful to my students and mentees for the privilege of being a part of their academic journey."
Johhny Ji: “I feel honored to receive this award, and I am especially grateful for my mentors and peers who inspire me to give my best in everything I do. My hope is that our collective commitment to teaching excellence will continue to raise up compassionate and competent teachers for the next generation.”
Pablo Alvarez: “Thank you to all my previous mentors from UCLA, UCSC, and beyond for showing me what teaching excellence looks like!”
